Canoe Intelligence was built inside a single-family office. For family offices with meaningful alternatives exposure, the workflow problem is specific. Capital call notices arrive across dozens of portals, K-1s come late, and partner capital account statements are formatted differently by every GP. Canoe addresses this by connecting to over 3,000 GP portals using a combination of direct APIs and robotic process automation, then extracting structured data from documents including:
Extracted data flows downstream into reporting and accounting platforms including Addepar, Black Diamond, Tamarac, and Orion through flexible APIs and file delivery. Clients at Align Impact reported up to a 75% reduction in time spent managing alternatives data with the same headcount. Prime Quadrant projected automating upwards of 90% of data processes after combining Canoe with Addepar.
Over 125 family offices now use the platform. Pricing is not publicly disclosed, and the platform is focused exclusively on alternatives data rather than serving as a broad portfolio management or reporting tool. Teams whose alts exposure is limited or whose GP documents arrive through a small number of portals may find the value case harder to build.
