TechRules is a Madrid-based wealthtech firm with over 20 years of history building modular software for financial institutions. In 2022, it was acquired by Univeris, a Toronto-based enterprise wealth management platform, and its flagship product Tower was rebranded as Univeris Advisor. Buyers evaluating TechRules today are effectively evaluating the Univeris product family, which now covers front-, mid-, and back-office applications as an integrated stack.

Before the acquisition, TechRules built its reputation across five product lines aimed at financial advisors, private banks, and wealth managers:

• Tower (now Univeris Advisor): a front-office wealth management platform for advisors and financial planners
• Robo Advisor: a white-label discretionary management portal
• Model Portfolio Services: risk-rated model portfolio construction tools
• Fund Solutions: fund marketing and reporting tools

The platform’s API library, built from over 200 APIs, was designed to allow financial institutions to configure modular deployments and connect to third-party systems. The firm operated across 19 countries, serving over 136,000 advisors and 2.1 million end users, with a client base that included private banks and wealth management firms in Europe and Latin America. Deployment options included SaaS, PaaS, and on-premise. Buyers looking at TechRules specifically should note that the brand and product roadmap have now migrated to Univeris, and direct engagement with the original TechRules product set is unlikely outside that parent relationship.
